Thomas Seltzer (NO)
Thomas Seltzer is one of Norway’s most respected TV hosts. Many know him from the viewer success “UXA – Thomas Seltzer’s America” on NRK, which is one of Norwegian television’s most-watched documentary series in recent years, with over a million viewers.
In the series, Seltzer visits his first homeland to find out what has happened to it and his favorite dream, namely the American Dream. It was a journey that started in his old hometown in the so-called Rust Belt and ended at the family farm on the prairie in Kansas, where he has roots dating back to the 1870s.
Seltzer has been on air for ten seasons on NRK with the pop-cultural humor program “Trygdekontoret” (“The Welfare Office”). In 2015, he also hosted the report series “Natta, Norge” (“Good night, Norway”) – a series where he visited people and places in Norway that have a story to tell.
Seltzer has won the “Gullruten award” for best male TV host in both 2012 and 2013. In 2013, he was also named “Media Personality of the Year.”
His entertainment career started as a musician in the rock band “Turbonegro”, a band he helped start. His stage name is Happy-Tom, and after 9 albums, the band is still active.
