Vice Mayor of Environment and Transport
City Government of Oslo

Ms. Marit Kristine Vea took office as Vice Mayor for Environment and Transport on 25 October 2023.  

Since 2019, Ms. Vea has been a member of the Oslo City Council representing the Liberal Party – serving on the Standing Committee on Transport and Environmental Affairs and as deputy chair for the Liberal Party’s city council group. She also has prior experience as Political Adviser to the Vice Mayor for Environment and Transport.  

Outside city government Ms. Vea has been the political adviser to former Minister of Climate and Environment, Mr. Ola Elvestuen. In addition, she has worked as an adviser in the Norwegian environmental foundation ZERO and as political adviser to the environmental NGO, Future in our hands.  

Ms. Vea holds a Master’s degree in environment and development from London School of Economics and Political Science.  

She lives in Oslo with her family and their dog.
