Giorgio Crugnola (IT)
Giorgio Crugnola is Director of Product Marketing & Application Engineering at Alpitronic, where he leads product portfolio management and application engineering for high‑power DC fast‑charging infrastructure. His work focuses on aligning market needs, technology roadmaps and application development, with particular attention to emerging high‑potential segments such as Truck & Bus and next‑generation ultra‑fast charging solutions.
He brings over two decades of experience in e‑mobility and energy storage. Before joining Alpitronic, he served as CTO at Engie‑EPS/NHOA and later at Free2Move eSolutions (a Stellantis joint venture), managing R&D and Innovation teams of about 40 engineers developing AC/DC charging technologies, bidirectional microgrids and V2G systems. Among his key achievements is the world’s first industrial‑scale V2G project at the FCA Mirafiori plant in Turin, scaling from an initial 2 MW demonstrator to a 25 MW installation integrating 550 vehicles.
Earlier, Giorgio spent nearly twenty years within the FIAMM group / MES-DEA, progressing through technical and managerial roles up to CTO, where he led the development of battery technologies (high temperature, sodium based) and energy storage systems ranging from 48 V to 800 V for electric mobility and stationary applications (TLC and grid integration).
He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano and an MBA from Fondazione CUOA – University of Padua. He is the author of several patents, a frequent speaker at international conferences, and since 2016 has served as Chairman of CEI Technical Committee 120 “Energy Storage Systems”. He has also contributed as technical director to several European and Swiss funded projects in the fields of microgrids, fuel‑cell and battery integration, and multi‑MW storage systems.
