Eugenio Grandio, President of the EMA Electro Movilidad Asociación (Electromobility Association), is a pioneer in the transition to electric vehicles in Mexico and an expert in the field. 

Until June 2024, Eugenio served as head of business development and government affairs for Tesla in Mexico and the LATAM region. He led the project for the site selection and negotiation of the planned Gigafactory to be built in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León.  

He also led various areas, including sales, market expansion, and the deployment of the Supercharger and charging network in Mexico.  

Grandio successfully introduced electric vehicle programs for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Panama. He also played a key role in drafting and generating public policies that accelerated the adoption of electric vehicles in these countries.  

His career showcases his great passion for the automotive industry and his early interest in electrification, aligning with the latest industry trends and leading him to work for industry leaders. He began his career as a Kaizen Promoter at a Toyota dealership, where he was responsible for promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Later, he worked at BMW Group Mexico for eight years in areas such as sales, operations, and dealer development. Ultimately, he led the strategy for introducing BMWi electric vehicles in Mexico and Latin America, making them among the first EVs in these countries.  

Today, his talent and experience are focused on the mission of accelerating the transition to electric mobility and promoting the ecosystem that enables the adoption of these technologies in Mexico.  

Eugenio holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from Anáhuac University.
