Åslaug Marie Haga (NO)
Åslaug Marie Haga serves as the CEO of Renewables Norway, a non-profit industry organization that represents over 400 companies across the entire Norwegian power supply value chain. Together with its members, Renewables Norway strives to expedite Norway’s transition to a zero-emission society, emphasizing growth and value creation through renewable energy, electrification, and other emission-free energy solutions.
Ms. Haga has a varied background in foreign service, national politics, the private sector, and international organizations. Her political roles have included serving as State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Office. She has held ministerial positions in the Ministries of Culture, Local & Regional Affairs, and Oil & Energy, in addition to being a member of Parliament. In the foreign service, she has occupied several roles at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with postings at the Norwegian Mission to the UN in New York and the embassy in New Delhi. On the international front, she served as the Executive Director of the Global Crop Diversity Trust and Assistant Secretary General at the International Fund for Agricultural Development. From 2016 to 2020, Ms. Haga chaired the board for the Peace Research Institute Oslo. Before joining Renewables Norway, she led Norwea, the Norwegian wind power association. In August 2022, she was appointed to the Norfund board as a director.
