Ingrid Tungen (NO)
Ingrid Tungen (NO), Head of Deforestation‑free Markets, Rainforest Foundation Norway. Ingrid Tungen leads the Deforestation‑free Markets team at Rainforest Foundation Norway, an international organization aiming to preserve the world’s remaining contiguous rainforest, where she works to reduce global deforestation driven by commercial actors and the demands from the global market. In her role, she oversees policy development, advocacy, and cross‑sector collaboration aimed at ensuring that commodities entering the global market – with a particular focus on European and Chinese markets – are produced without contributing to forest destruction.
Before joining Rainforest Foundation Norway, Ingrid served as Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Secretariat of the Socialist Left Party (SV), and earlier as a policy advisor in the environmental field, bringing extensive experience in political processes, legislative work, and sustainability‑focused policy development.
With a background in law and sustainability, Ingrid is an active public voice on forest protection and responsible trade, frequently contributing expert commentary on the global drivers of deforestation.
