Powering the green transition and the hunt for sustainable minerals and batteries

This session will enlighten you on all you need to know about the upsides, but also the downsides of the increasing demand for raw materials like lithium, cobalt, and nickel. We will discuss the geopolitics of access to minerals, as well as the challenges and solutions surrounding the sustainable and ethical sourcing and production of these minerals.

You will hear from the Author of the book Volt Rush and Executive Editor of Benchmark Source, Henry Sanderson. He writes in his book: “we are mining more minerals than at any time in our history, a dependence that is only set to increase”, as well as Managing Director, Olav Skalmeraas, Norge Mineraler AS part of Norge Mining Limited and Kaja Lønne Fjærtoft from WWF will also join the discussion.

Furthermore, before we discuss the hunt for sustainable minerals, you will hear from Åslaug Marie Haga, the CEO of Renewable Norway. Åslaug Marie Haga has a long carrier in Norwegian politics, including the position as Norwegian Minister for Oil and Energy. Now she is one of the most eager and influential voices for ramping up the renewable energy transition in Norway.
