Senior advisor for sustainable oceans

Kaja Lønne Fjærtoft is a senior advisor for sustainable oceans, and the Global Policy Lead for the WWF No Deep Seabed Mining Initiative. In her role she works with business, finance, policy and communication to ensure responsible sourcing of materials, including work on sustainable batteries. She has previously worked in the Norwegian government as a environmental specialist, and as a lecturer on climate change and geographical information systems. 

Originally from Norway, Kaja studied marine biology and spatial planning at James Cook University, and obtained a Master of Coastal Development from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
