Mr. Petersen is member of the European Parliament elected from the Danish Social-Liberal Party (Radikale Venstre) and is member of The Renew Europe Group in the Parliament. Mr. Petersen has been member of the European Parliament for eight years where he is currently Vice-Chair of the Parliaments Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and substitute member of the Delegation for relations with the United States.
Before Mr. Petersen’s political carrier in Brussels, he was Director of the Association of Danish Media, board member of IAB Europe and CEO of the Association of Danish Interactive Media, FDIM. Prior to this Mr. Petersen was member of the Danish Parliament for elven years for the Danish Social-Liberal Party.
Currently Mr. Petersen has been selected as the European Parliament’s lead on drawing up an offshore wind strategy and he was given the Energy Award as the most influential MEP on Energy policy in 2018 by the Parliament Magazine.
