H.E. Mrs. Seharla Abdulahi was born in Addis Ababa in 1990 GC. Prior to her current position, she served as the State Minister of Health of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia since 2018 GC. She holds a Master’s in Public Health and has worked as a health professional in both the public and private health sectors.

During her tenure, H.E. Mrs. Abdulahi coordinated and implemented a women-centered and income-generating project for faith-based organizations. She successfully mobilized resources and developed sustainable skill-building programs to ensure the social and economic empowerment of women, contributing to their resilience. Moreover, she developed and implemented hygiene and sanitation programs to promote health and prevent diseases. She was elected as a member of the Ethiopian Parliament for two terms and served as the Deputy Chairperson for the Women and Children Standing Committee, where proclamations regarding adaptation law and the Maputo Protocol were ratified. She was also a member of the Pan-African Parliament. H.E. Mrs. Abdulahi served as a State Minister of Health until 2022 GC.

In 2022, H.E. Mrs. Abdulahi was appointed as the Director General of the Petroleum and Energy Authority. She has achieved several successes in enhancing the efficiency of PEA overall. Aligned with the Ethiopian government’s ambition towards a green economy, H.E. Sahrela is working on regulatory frameworks to promote the adoption of electric mobility and to regulate related services and investments.
