Ola Elvestuen (NO)
Minister of Climate and Environment
Elvestuen was appointed Minister of Climate and Environment in January 2018, after having served as Member of Parliament and leader of the Energy and the Environment Committee since 2013.
Prior to this, Elvestuen was elected to the Oslo City Council in 2003 where he served as Chair of the Standing Committee on Urban Development from 2003 – 2011 and later as Vice Mayor for Environment and Transport from 2011-2013.Elvestuen have been the deputy leader of Norways Liberal Party, (Venstre) since 2008, andwas prior to this leader of the Oslo branch from 2000-2007.Ola Elvestuen was born on the 9th of October 1967, at Vestre Toten, in the county of Oppland. He spent his childhood at the small town of Eina. Elvestuen holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oslo, having studied Social Anthropology, Political Science and History. He started a major in History. He has undertaken leadership training at the Norwegian Defence College.
